COVINGTON, Wash. - A man from King County is facing vehicular assault charges after deputies say his SUV hit a couple in a Walmart parking lot.
King County Sheriff's deputies arrested the 71-year-old man on Thanksgiving. Investigators say they think alcohol may have been involved.
Witnesses say the man had been driving an SUV in the parking lot of the Covington Walmart, at around 8 p.m. when it was crowded with shoppers. They say the couple in their mid 40's had been walking into the store.
Paramedics brought the man and women to Harborview Medical Center.
Deputies say the woman suffered injuries to her pelvis and head, and the man sustained head injuries.
