Andrew Furney hit three field goals to help Washington State beat Washington on the Apple Cup last Friday. And for that, the Pac-12 named the junior from Burlington, Wash. its Special Teams Player of the Week.
Furney went three-for-three on Friday, hitting field goals of 21, 45 and 27. His 45-yarder tied the game with 1:59 to play. His 27-yarder in overtime gave the Cougars the win over the Huskies for their first Apple Cup win since 2008.
The 27-yard field goal in overtime was Furney's first-ever game-winner.
In addition to getting the weekly honor, the conference also named him to the All-Pac 12 Second Team.
Furney was the only Cougar to earn a conference player of the week honor this season.
