KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Some Seniors at Kamiakin High School are trying to help feed the hungry in our community by offering up free hot chocolate and doughnuts.

Seniors Michelle Fletcher, Alexandria Miskho, Joanna Sun, Ruby Martin and Heather Whitehouse came up with a competition is to see which class can collect the most canned goods for Second Harvest.

They say if everyone brought in just one item , they'd have 2,000 items of food to donate. The students have already set up collection bins all around the school.

"We have some teachers here who really get competitive. And so it's always really fun. They really go for it. And every day, we're carrying these huge things of cans. Its fun because we're all small people. We carry around these huge bins just walking around campus," said Alexandria Miskho.

The drive runs until December 10th. The winning class gets treated to doughnuts and hot coco.
