WALLA WALLA, Wash. - Walla Walla Area Crime Watch now has the money to purchase a soda blaster system to help get rid of graffiti.
Crime Watch volunteers from throughout Walla Walla County will soon be able to help rid the area of gang graffiti thanks to two large donations. One donation was from Tim Brennan, the owner of Construction Equipment Exports, who purchased a large diesel compressor for Crime Watch to run the equipment. The other, from Sherwood Trust, (founded by Donald and Virginia Sherwood) for $11,100.
Walla Walla Police say the money will go to buying the soda blaster unit and the accessories they'll needed to do the work.
Officers say smaller donations totaling about $800 came in during a fundraiser in October by Walla Walla Area Crime Watch during a document "shred event," but the police department is still accepting donations.
Police say they're hoping to buy and prepare all the equipment within 3 months.
