KITTITAS COUNTY, Wash. - A Bellevue man is behind bars after a brief chase that ended after he ran over spike strips on I-90.
A Kittitas County Deputy saw a man driving erratically in a silver Subaru near downtown Ellensburg a little after 1AM Thursday morning.
The Deputy said when he went to stop the man he sped off. The Deputy chased the man west on University Way and on to westbound I-90. The pursuit ended when the driver made a u-turn near Elk Heights and ran over spike strips traveling eastbound. The suspect got off the highway and stopped on the eastbound off-ramp into Ellensburg when his tires went flat.
He was taken into custody and was identified as 26-year-old Jeffery Creighton.
Creighton was booked into the Kittitas County Corrections Center for driving under the influence and eluding police.
