Wash. -- Matt Manweller was officially sworn in as
state representative, position 2, for the 13th Legislative District today.
Manweller gets a head start on other
incoming freshman legislators due to the resignation of former 13th District
Rep. Bill Hinkle.
"I am excited to get an
early start so we can hit the ground running when the session starts in
January," said Manweller,
R-Ellensburg. "I am looking forward to bringing common-sense oversight to a runaway
bureaucracy, funding water storage solutions, and providing access to health
care in rural areas."
Manweller is a lifelong educator,
including the last ten years as a political science professor at Central
Washington University. He has also produced and hosted political talk shows on
radio and the Christian Broadcasting Network.
He has served on the boards of the
chamber the commerce, rotary and Washington Policy Center. He and his wife
Shelley have two children and reside in Ellensburg.
