Green Olive Cafe has high hopes for food drive

Posted: Updated:

Sunnyside, WASH.--Only one week in and the Green Olive Cafe in Sunnyside has already surpassed the total amount of donations they had during last year's food drive.

This is the second year the cafe has collected non perishable food items for local food banks in Sunnyside and Prosser.

The owner said the goal was to get around 150 cans, but they'll have to set their sights a little higher because they've already passed that number.

"A local company donated a large amount of money and had me and my wife go buy food towards their portion of it, which was very kind of them," said Chris Booth, the owner of Green Olive Cafe. "So we've already done way better than we did last year."

Everyone who donates gets the chance to draw for a prize, like free appetizers or a 10 percent off coupon.

You have until December 23rd to donate.
