Pasco airport on board for remodel

Posted: Updated:

PASCO, Wash. - Port commissioners know how they want to remodel the Tri-Cities Airport terminal.  Now the commissioners wait to find out how much it would cost.

Vicky Keller at the Port of Pasco says the commissioners have a budget of between three and five million dollars for the project that would begin in 2014.

An architectural firm is currently looking at the port's conceptual design and will come back with price estimates.

The commissioners want to widen the screening area, and move the restrooms, stairs, and elevators to the front of the terminal.

Plans also call for the car rental area to be moved.

The terminal has undergone several renovations since it was first built in 1966, including security changes following Nine Eleven in 2001, and a federal stimulus project in 2009.
