WHITE PASS, Wash.-- Good news for skiers and snowboarders. White Pass Ski Area announced they'll be opening Friday.
A spokesperson says they'll have 75%-80% of their runs open by the end of the week.
Workers had hoped to open earlier in November but say this weekend isn't that late.
"This will be an average opening for us. Do we like to be open earlier? Of course. We're glad we waited though because snow conditions are very good up high," said Kathleen Goyette, the spokesperson for White Pass.
Another local ski and snowboard resort isn't having the same luck though. Workers at Ski Bluewood say more snow is needed before they can open.
White Pass will be open daily at 8:45am, starting Friday.
