Nurse in Duchess prank call dies of apparent suicide

LONDON (AP) –  A London hospital has confirmed the nurse tricked by a prank call from two Australian radio DJs has apparently committed suicide.

Police say they found the body of Jacintha Saldanha early Friday.

Saldanha received a phone call from two Australian radio disc jockeys impersonating Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles asking for information about Charles' daughter-in-law, the former Kate Middleton, who was hospitalized with morning sickness. The hospital says Saldanha transferred the call to the nurse who was caring for the duchess, and who provided the callers with information on her condition.

A St. James's Palace spokesman said "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Jacintha Saldanha."
