SPOKANE, Wash. – Doctors say a man is fighting for his life after saving his fiancé and their eleven-month-old baby from their burning home.

Firefighters say  the three became trapped in the bedroom basement. Shawn Apperson, 28, helped his fiancé and their baby climb out a window, but he couldn't fit through.

Firefighters later rescued Apperson and three other children from the house.

Apperson is in the intensive care unit at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Doctors say he has burns over 65 percent of his body.
