SEATTLE, Wash. - Police are investigating $6,000 worth of stolen toys that were taken Monday from the Central District YWCA in Seattle.
YWCA was planning to give the toys to about 250 needy children for the holidays.
YWCA employees said they do not know how they will have enough toys to pass out but the nonprofit Rick's Toys for Kids has said it will use its reserve funds to replace the items. The same nonprofit bought the original toys.
Employees said people have been stopping by and dropping off loads of toys. They said they hope to be able to tell the nonprofit that the toys have been replaced.
