Judge Says Doughnut Hole Lawsuit Can Proceed

Posted: Updated:

PASCO, Wash. - A court victory for residents of Franklin County's Doughnut Hole who are fighting annexation.

Judge Carrie Runge says a lawsuit seeking to stop the City of Pasco from annexing a portion of the Doughnut Hole can proceed.

The judge wants to take a closer look at water service agreements signed by a number of people living on land that the City is trying to annex.

If problems are found with the water agreements, there may be enough people left in the Doughnut Hole to allow them to hold a special election on forming a new city in the Doughnut Hole area.
