KENNEWICK, Wash. - As
the nation paused Friday in a moment of silence for the victims of the
Connecticut school shooting, Jill Hayes knelt down at the Columbia River
shore and lit a candle for each of the victims.
The
West Richland mother of two says she wanted to show as a country we remember the children of
Sandy Hook elementary.
"As a community, as a citizen,
we need to come together, reflect and help each other get through this
tragedy."
Hayes says she hopes legislators look into what
we need to do to stop further violent tragedies.
