KENNEWICK, Wash. -- The Richland Rotary Club made a timely and generous donation to our Coats For Kids drive. Jerry McGuire, a Rotarian delivered five boxes, and 65 new coats to our NBC Right Now studios in Kennewick.
The group managed to raise $500 from their Duck Races and joined forces with WalMart in Richland to buy brand new coats for kids and teens at a discount.
"I think its quite timely. its just before Christmas and it looks like the weather is just about ready to give us some snow. so hopefully they can get these jackets distributed," said McGuire. Also Friday, students from Delta High School dropped off an additional 20 coats.
NBC Right Now will continue collecting new and gently used coats for the Salvation Army until the end of the month. To see drop off locations click here
