SELAH, Wash.-- The city of Selah is now taking applications for an open seat on the city council.
The city says Kevin Jorgensen is moving out of Selah city limits, meaning he can't hold his city council post any more.
The new council member would complete the rest of the new council member would serve in Jorgensen's spot until November 2013 and would then have to run for re-election.
"I would encourage anyone that has any thoughts about serving their community to please pick up an application and let's talk," says Selah Mayor John Gawlik.
To apply, you must live within Selah's city limits and be registered to vote.
The deadline to apply is January seventh.
