OREGON -- Oregon State Police say three people died in three separate accidents on Oregon roads during the Christmas holiday period.
The Christmas holiday period began at 6pm Friday, December 21st to 11:59pm on December 25th.
OSP also reported 53 DUI arrests during that same period, nearly twice as many as reported during the 2011 Christmas holiday period when 28 DUI arrests were reported.
Law enforcement in Oregon, Washington and around the nation will continue stepped up DUI enforcement until January 1st as part of the "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign.
