BENTON CITY, Wash. - Two Yakima teenagers were taken to Kadlec Hospital Saturday afternoon after a car accident on Interstate 82. It happened just after 4:00 p.m.

Washington State Patrol said 17-year-old Ana Ventura went off the road into the median. Her passenger 18-year-old Nathaniel Banks, of Yakima, got out of the car to try to free it when he and the car were hit by an SUV. 

WSP said the driver of the SUV, 45-year-old Rosa Mendoza, of Pasco, lost control because she was going too fast for conditions. Mendoza was not injured.
