YAKIMA, Wash. - In Yakima, the first New Year's baby came at 12:24 p.m. at Yakima Memorial Hospital.
Vincent Avetisyan was born a healthy baby boy at 7 pounds and 11 ounces.
The family said they were enjoying New Year's Eve dinner and celebrating with their two-year-old son when Vincent decided to come a little earlier than expected.
"He wasn't due until the thirteenth, and so he was an early bird," said the family. "He was a surprise."
The family said Vincent must have known the spotlight would be on him, and had to come early.
The second New Year's baby in Yakima was born at Memorial Hospital less than five minutes after Vincent.
