YAKIMA, Wash. - Yakima Police say they found a man known as a regular panhandler in Yakima dead in his car Tuesday night.
Officers say 56-year-old Douglas D. Budd had a hypodermic needle in his arm, $1,700 in cash and a half-pound of heroin on him. Police say he apparently died of a drug overdose.
Officers say Budd split his time dealing drugs and panhandling at one of the city's busiest intersections.
He had a criminal record that included shoplifting, burglary, theft and drug convictions.
