PASCO, Wash. - The Franklin Public Utilities District met Tuesday morning with community members to discuss a potential rate increase.
The Rate Advisory Committee, or RAC, will choose from five scenarios regarding a rate increase in either 2013 or 2014 of about 4.9%.
Next Tuesday the 22nd, the RAC will have a decision regarding the potential increase and when it will go into effect.
"Coming out of this meeting we pretty much have a good idea of where we're going. The rate scenarios are, do we need to do a rate increase in 2013, do we not. If we do, what's the timing of it, would it be in may or September?" said Franklin PUD Public Affairs Manager, Debbie Bone-Harris.
The decision will be announced at a board meeting next Tuesday at 1 PM at the Franklin Public Utility District Auditorium. Franklin PUD has not raised their rates since 2007.
