KENNEWICK, Wash. -A woman accused of manslaughter in the death of a toddler will go on trial in April.
The Benton County prosecutor charged Kelli Jacobsen more than a year ago in the death of one-year-old Ryder Morrison. Her trial had been scheduled for last fall, but the judge delayed the trial after a defense expert on Shaken Baby Syndrome said he wouldn't be available to testify until early this year.
Jacobsen worked as a nanny. She says she called 9-1-1 after the boy fell and hit his head.
The coroner says he ruled the death a homicide after finding injuries inconsistent with a fall.
