Zags Drop 2 Spots

SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University's one-point buzzer-beater setback at Butler University last week didn't have much of an impact on the voters as the Bulldogs fell just two spots to 10th in both the Associated Press and USA Today polls.

The win vaulted Butler from 13th in both polls to ninth just ahead of the Bulldogs.

Gonzaga has been ranked every week this season.

The Bulldogs return to West Coast Conference play Thursday when BYU comes to town for an 8 p.m. contest. Following BYU's win over the University of San Diego this past weekend, the Bulldogs are the lone remaining undefeated team in the WCC at 4-0. Three teams have one conference loss - BYU (5-1), Saint Mary's (4-1) and USD (4-1). The rest of the field has at least three WCC setbacks.

Duke University, which fell from the top spot last week, returned to No. 1 as the University of Louisville lost to Syracuse University and fell from the top spot after one week.
