SPOKANE, Wash. -

How cold is it? Cold enough for The Kennel Club to tell students NOT to camp out in anticipation of Thursday's pivotal game.

Students were kicked out the tent city overnight, but were told they could return to their tents around 7 a.m. At around 6 a.m. Wednesday the temperature was hovering around 15 degrees.

The Bulldogs take on second-place BYU Thursday night. That is now the focus as Gonzaga moves forward after a heartbreaking loss to Butler on Saturday.

"We didn't dwell on that loss," said senior forward Sam Dower. "We thought about it that night and just forget about it. We're just moving forward and thinking about BYU on Thursday."

"That last play – it could have happened to anybody," said guard Gary Bell Jr. about the last-second loss to Butler. "We told [Stockton] we're always going to be behind him. We're just going to get ready for BYU."

"It wasn't meant to be," added Elias Harris. "I realized it after the flight was over and we landed and I was like, ‘you know what… it happens,' move on to the next one."

Thursday's game gets underway at 8 p.m. on ESPN2.

Interesting to note:

Entering this week of play, the WCC home team has won just 12 of 34 contests in 2013.

The WCC is the only Division I conference with four teams ranked in the top 25 in scoring: Gonzaga (9), BYU (18), Santa Clara (19), Saint Mary's (23).
