YAKIMA, Wash.-- Opening arguments start
in the trial of two Yakima men accused of murder.
Michael Gorski and Frank Brugnone are
suspected of killing Carolyn Clift in Selah back in 1997.
The trial was supposed to start yesterday,
but the judge moved the start date when two jurors got sick.
Today the prosecution brought up DNA
evidence linking the men to the crime scene while both the defendant's
attorney's say things just don't match up.
"This trial is about the men who are
charged with causing her death," said Prosecutor Patti Powers.
"You will be convinced that Mike was
telling you the truth, and that's why you will find him not guilty," said
Gorski's Attorney John Crowley.
"No DNA, no fingerprints, no
witnesses that put him in the apartment," said Brugnone's Attorney Adolfo
Banda.
Gorski is having his case argued before a
jury while Brugnone will let the judge decide his verdict.
