YAKIMA, Wash.--It's been a busy past couple of days for the Yakima Fire Department.

Crews rescued a mother and her three children early Saturday morning after a fire broke out in their home along the 500 Block of East Walnut Street.

The fire caused significant damage to some areas, but residents were not displaced.

Fire crews said this incident could have been much worse since there was no smoke detector in the house.

The cause of the fire is suspicious and currently under investigation.
