The National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health awarded Rep. McMorris Rogers Thursday. She serves as Co-Chair of the Rural Health Care Coalition and introduced the Rural Hospital and Provider Equity Act with Rep. Mike Thompson (D-CA) in the 112th Congress.
McMorris Rogers was born in Salem, spent much of her childhood in Kettle Falls, and got her diploma from the University of Washington. She is currently the U.S. Representative for Washington's 5th Congressional District and is the highest ranking Republican woman in Congress.
