KENNEWICK, Wash. - Today opens high school spring practices and the Kamiakin Braves baseball team hit the diamond in defense of their 3A state title. Last season Kamiakin baseball beat Eastside Catholic for the state championship. The Braves return ready to defend the trophy. They say they're feeling good about this season and are fully embracing the target on their back mentality.
"It's all about, defending our turf man, defending the state championship. We've earned a target on our back and we're embracing that and it's all about finding our identity, as well, you know," said Kamiakin Head Coach Ryan Carter. "We're going to defend our title to the best of our ability and then find our identity just like last year, kinda came together at the end there and hopefully we can find out identity a little bit quicker this year and get rolling."
