UNION GAP, Wash.-- The city of Union Gap
expects to hire its new city manager next week. The city council will bring in the
two finalists for interviews during their meeting on Monday.
Community members can attend, and listen
to the candidate's final interviews.
After that, the city council expects to
go into executive session and choose the new manager that night.
Fire Chief Chris Jensen is the city's
temporary administrator until the new city manager takes over.
"It's very encouraging. I'm very
optimistic and I'm really looking forward to being able to move some... Make
some changes forward," said Union Gap Mayor Roger Wentz.
The mayor expects the new city manager to
take over by April first.
The meeting will be held at the city library building on Monday night at
six.
