KENNEWICK, Wash.-- Three people are recovering from injuries after they were beaten with clubs early this morning by a group of masked robbers who broke into their home.
Benton County Sheriff's detectives said the suspects assaulted the victims, took several items from the house and then left in a dark sedan.
It happened just after 2 a.m. on the 700 block of East 13th Avenue in Kennewick.
Detectives said neighbors saw something going on and called 911.
"For us, home invasions aren't very typical. They happen every once in a while. They're usually drug related," said Lt. Charles Jones, Benton County Sheriff's Office.
Jones said these types of robberies commonly happen because thieves may know drugs and cash are inside the house.
