COEUR d'ALENE, Idaho - A formal complaint has been filed on behalf of more than 100 people after the Coeur d'Alene school board eliminated a developmental program at Hayden Meadows Elementary School.
The 20-page document claims School Districts board members violated state laws as well as their own policies when they decided to do away with the program.
The grievance accuses the school board of discrimination, fiscal irresponsibility, and decision-making on personal bias, abuse of power and violating the state's open meeting laws.
The program is meant to develop children as a whole as well as emotionally, academically, and gain understanding of the world.
Critics say it has a political and religious agenda.
Supporters say they believe in the positive results they see in kids.
