SEATTLE, Wash. - Boeing technical workers now have a new four-year contract.
Workers overwhelmingly approved the new contract in a re-vote tallied Monday night. The 7,200 workers rejected an offer in February that would have replaced pensions with a 401 (k) retirement plan for new hires.
In the February vote, 15,500 Boeing engineers represented by the same union voted to accept a contract offer with the same pension provision.
While technical workers and engineers bargain, the contracts are separate and independent agreements.
A Boeing spokesman said the company was pleased with the technical workers' decision.
