Kennewick Murder Suspect Told Her Friend She Was Pregnant

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash.--  A woman is accused of killing a pregnant woman and stealing her unborn baby.  The only suspect in the case is 23-year- old Phiengchai Sisouvanh Synhavong.  Monday night KNDU spoke with one of her friends, Maymay Donesouda.

Donesouda told KNDU that all of this came as a complete surprise to her.  She knows Synhavong through their parents.  They were all involved in the Tri-Cities Laotian community.

Maymay Donesouda says Synhavong was usually happy and nice, but she was also a loner.  The last time she spoke to her was about three weeks ago, and she told her something that she sounded excited about. Donesouda said, "When we went to go visit her three weeks ago, she told me 'Hey guess what?'  I'm like 'ok what?' She goes 'I'm 9 nine months pregnant.' I was like 'Congratulations!'  She was like 'I wish I would have the baby soon.'"

Donesouda says she didn't doubt that Synhavong was pregnant because she looked like she was.   She also said that many people at their Laotian church are saying that she must have been possessed.
