Rescue on I-82 near Selah

SELAH, Wash.-A police chase and motorcycle crash ended with the unique rescue of an injured suspect along I-82 near Selah.

The situation reportedly started when a male suspect on a motorcycle ran from Yakima Police on the afternoon of March 21.

After crashing his motorcycle near milepost 30 on westbound I-82 near Selah, the suspect tried to run up a hill and got stuck, according to the Selah Fire Department.

The suspect was injured in the crash and could not get down the hill. Rescue crews used a Yakima Fire Department ladder truck to get the man off the hill, according to a social media post from the Selah Fire Department.

The Yakima Fire Department, Yakima Training Center and Selah Fire Department all responded to the incident.

The crash and rescue blocked one lane of I-82 for about 45 minutes while the suspect was rescued and taken into custody.Â
